“ why are you asking me for help? ”
" 𝐈'𝐌 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐓, " a slight hiss might’ve been too much venom to spit. perhaps, there was the boundary that was set prior was being tested -- paris would eventually end on a fiery note, she knew that the moment she landed. her lips were sealed shut, braving the moments that pass her for being so bold in the first place. frustration got the better of sam and decided to take a ride. just... the very shape that ivana cuts out for herself... reminds her too much of a woman she once knew. someone she thought would stick around until she was too old to carry herself, “ you don’t have to be part of this. i’ll uproot the whole system and destroy it if i have to. but these girls, these widows that’re running rampant in the streets can’t be saved by one person. ”
“ why are you really here? ”
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐆𝐄 - 𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐑, perhaps in more ways than one. it’s not the easiest to confess, she keeps it to herself and tosses her words in the grave. why she traveled to barcelona for ivana ran deeper than she can explain, “ you really gonna ask me that? ” dead in the night where there’s nothing but stray folks and cats lingering around. the crisp breeze whistling in through her safe house sent another chill down her spine, another nudge to answer, “ obviously, i’m here to shoot the shit, ” plain and simple, right? if only it was true. samantha speaks with an aloofness that coats her charming nature. she makes herself at home to sit just across from the widow woman, “ you have anything to drink for your guest? ”
“ i’m just here to make sure you don’t get yourself killed. ”
𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐁𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃’𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑, much more reckless and prone to getting herself into all sorts of trouble. the woman scoffs lightly as she leans against her bike, helmet dangling off the edges of her fingers as she rose a brow to the other, “ just admit you wanna tag along, ” they can come to the conclusion that samantha does not know how to sit still and refuses to remain hidden for long, “ if i get killed -- and that’s a big ‘if’ -- at least i don’t have any debts to pay. ”
𝗠.𝗘. there are certain things you must know to be a good lawyer. there are things you study, and then there are things you learn when you become a man of the law. myles, himself, was a great lawyer — which means he intended to know every detail he could about any case he decided to persue. this one was a bit different, he would admit. the woman hadn’t approached him, but the other way around, myles having received information on something called the black widows and the red room. when he knocked on the door, he took a step back, sliding his hands into his pockets. and when the door opened, he adorned a small yet charming grin.
he talked his way inside, though he wouldn’t be naive enough to think she trusted him just yet. myles would be as truthful as he could be, without given his away true intentions. ‘ i really think we could help each other, ’ the lawyer finally states, leaning back in his seat to get more comfortable. he’s played his visit off as gathering information for a case, but the man would save what he hoped to learn for his night work. ‘ i want the same thing you do, ’ @grivellea.
“Help me, or stay out of my way.”
The ultimatum wasn’t entirely surprising, though having to help others wasn’t entirely his speciality. Though he knew this wasn’t her asking for help, more of if he was going to be involved then it was either step out of the way or provide whatever aid he could. A heavy sigh left the former asset, not wanting to create unnecessary conflicts when he already had a rather large one breathing down his back. “Fine.” He finally mumbled out, looking over at the other woman before turning to face her fully. Arms crossed over his chest as weight shifted from one foot to the other. “What exactly do you have in mind then?” He questioned with a tilt of his head. “Because I’m not going to stop, I’m not getting in your way, and it seems we have the same target. So, I’m left with little to no choice here.”
