@grotimus hi, i wrote these posts while watching the first recap movie, and like i mentioned in one of my posts, it’s been a long time since i’ve watched the series. maybe the series made sayaka more likeable than the in movies since it gives more time for exposure, thats a possibility. but ultimately im a hater. what i listed point by point in my post does happen, in that order, in the first movie. yes she’s a cautionary tale but that doesn’t make her smart (quite the opposite, thats the point). what i mean is if you’re looking for an actual in-depth discussion with less bias, im not the one you’re looking for.

i didnt remember kyouko’s sacrifice until i watched the second movie yesterday lol so thats on me too. however, i did not say kyouko didnt care about sayaka, i said they were acquaintances and no more than that. which is something kyouko says in the movie during her sacrifice scene (ill pull up screens is you really want, for now i wont cuz im being lazy). the thing is while kyouko cares about sayaka, thats very one sided. i have seen many, many people making a big deal of these two as a couple while to me it just isnt that deep of a relationship (yes.) thats all!

And in your 3-subling-(fish-goat-human)-au-(with-Chara-and-asriel-go-through-plan-thing) did undyne tell asgore about the plan and maybe even doubt his human-execution thing? Maybe she told Toriel?

If Chara and Asriel went through with the plan, Chara would probably never tell Undyne or their parents about it. But Asriel might hint at what they were doing in a way that Undyne could only recognize after the plan had failed. In that case, I’m sure she’d tell both Asgore and Toriel as soon as she realized.

The turning point here would be if the two of them talked about it together. They’d realize the plan’s goal of taking human souls to break the barrier, and seeing how it failed, Asgore might not declare war (especially if they realize the pressure Chara felt they were under). In that case, the Underground would be more peaceful, and the events of Undertale would eventually proceed as usual. Unfortunately, the family would still have to live with the loss of Asriel and Chara, so this ending is still rather bittersweet.
