The Group Project Rant #1 (I just know group members will disappoint me in the future so yeah)

I have this group project that is due in literally 3 days and I got a text last night in the group’s chat that one of our group members has dropped the class and there are now only 3 of us working on it. We can’t have an extension and one other member of our group definitely gives off the vibe that he’s going to fuck us over and not do his share. So it’s just me and one other girl working on a twenty minute presentation that requires enough material for four people to work on it. So basically, once again, FUCK GROUP PROJECTS in university. Also all our classes are online so it’s very easy for people to weasel their way our of doing work compared to if we were in a classroom. I’m an Honours student and I need to keep up my GPA and two major projects in this class depend on this group and I am pissed. My grade should not depend on other people’s effort (or lack thereof) and these people definitely shouldn’t be allowed to gain a higher grade in the course based on the work I’m doing. Ugh. I’m so done. This is my own personal hell.

You know I’m all fine for group projects and all

But when I’m paired up with some macho “GYM GYM GYM EXERCISE” Asian dumbass who questions my creativity, which has been excelling in the English grammar and syntax, and developing FanFiction for SIX FUCKING YEARS

You lose points on the project because apparently he think he’s the leader and

-Thinks a motto without alliteration is better than a motto with alliteration (in which, “playful/memorable” language is required for the project)

-Doesn’t know how powerful the difference is in the display and ordering of “cost effective, reusable and renewable” vs “cost-effective, renewable, and reusable”

-After like the 3rd time being told otherwise, still thinks our made-up company deals directly with customers WHEN ALL WE DO IS JUST FIND NEWER, SCIENTIFIC WAYS TO PRODUCE MATERIALS, NOT ACTUALLY PRODUCE MATERIALS and changes our company information to make it look like the latter

and he inconsiderably disrespects me thinking I’m dumb by saying (text message 1) Leon. (text message 2) Leon. no. (text message 3) all you had to do was this thing” even though I clearly knew this piece of information was unnecessary or should be changed to be more creative

meanwhile the 3rd person in our group does like one thing which we improved after that and continues to leech
