11/9/14: getting children to sit still during group time
Another problem I, and many other teachers have is getting children to sit still, focus and participate in group time. A strategy i observed one teacher using was to get the students to sit in a meditation pose. I thought it was a cute and fun way to get the children to stay still during group time.
Another strategy I observed was letting the children stand up and "shake" their wriggles out. This gave them a chance to move around, make some noise, and be a bit silly before it was time to sit down and focus again.
All the presentations at the end of the group discussions looking at multicultural urban reality...
