I thought I would share with you an event I am SUPER excited about. My dear friend Jill is an incredible spirit that often guides meditation practice. She provides me with a lot of insight while we cultivate, weed, and harvest in the CSHS garden. When she told me about this event she wanted to create, I immediately wanted to be involved. It is a brilliant idea in partnership with two great local businesses. I hope all of you in Northern California can make it, and I'll let Jill’s words tell you more about it....
In today’s fast-paced, plugged-in world, it is all too easy to feel stressed out, overwhelmed, isolated, and unhealthy. As a result, many of us are disconnected from ourselves, from our communities, and from the earth.
But the natural world, and our own minds and bodies offer us the chance to reconnect with our inherent vitality, openness, and joy. Through meditation, we learn to rest our minds and tune into our present experience, cultivating a sense of care for who and what we are. As we do, our ability to open and appreciate the world around us increases.
Through harvesting, planting, weeding and watering, we observe and learn from the cycles of nature, developing a relationship with the earth and coming back into balance with it and with ourselves. The physical work of digging in the dirt also creates a sense of embodiment, health, and delight. Sharing our bounty with friends and community brings a deep sense of connection and well-being.
This community workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to nourish your mind and body, celebrate the glory of autumn, and enjoy the fruits of our harvest with a delicious meal. No meditation or farming experience is necessary and all are welcome. Join us!
