2017年CESに登場、卓上型と壁に設置する2タイプの室内菜園システム「Opcom」

＜ピックアップ＞ Opcom proves you can grow more than weed with at-home hydroponics

2017年のCESに登場したのが、インドアで水栽培の室内で家庭菜園ができる「Opcom」。水栽培は、土を必要とせず、また頻繁に人工光も必要としない。天気にも左右されないため、安定した菜園が可能だ。

Opcomは、高効率のLEDライト、また水や栄養分のレベルなどを設定できる制御システムを搭載している。購入すると植物の種もついてくる。

製品は2つあり、「GrowBox」は卓上型の家庭菜園。「GrowWall」は、GrowBoxより大型で壁に垂直型に設置するタイプ。前者は50種類、後者は75種類の異なる植物を栽培できるという。

両製品ともに、従来の家庭菜園に比べて植物の成長スピードが25%早いことが確認されている…

I went to visit a living wall at Pershore a few days ago for a project I’m doing, the wall had large patches that did not get watered and insufficient spot lighting. The dry patches caused parts of the wall to die and the spot lighting encouraged the plants it hit to grow out rapidly towards it (rather than the wall growing as a whole in an uninformed direction).
