a beautiful grey squirrel, likely roadkill ❤️ it looked like she had just layed down and died, the poor thing. and I made an unfortunate discovery while skinning - she was pregnant with four beautiful pups 😭 I suppose it's better this way than if she had them and then died. I have cleaned her whole skeleton to articulate, and kept her pelt aside for tanning, and the pups will be sent to a friend to wet preserve.
another remarkable haul on the 20th of July! I picked up two woodpigeons, a hedgehog, a dunnock, a grey squirrel, a young robin, and a beautiful (stinky!) dove.
