Grinch! Baby
Up on Mount Crumpit (or maybe mid-L.A.), Buck and dear Eddie had gotten away— A quiet-ish evening, or that was the goal, Before fate took a turn down a rather strange hole.
The Grinch sauntered forward with hips that did sway, All lime-colored swagger in a highly rude way. His grin was too sharp, his fur fluffed just right— He looked like he’d pre-gamed for scandal tonight.
“Busy?” he asked. “Oh boys, let me guess— Some festive entangling under duress? A tangle of tongues and a holiday thrill? A silent night? Or a not-so-silent one, still?”
But Eddie just laughed, calm as could be, “Sit down,” he suggested, “have cocoa. It’s free.” The Grinch blinked once, then twice—what a sight— Two handsome firefighters being weirdly polite.
Then the strangest thing happened (as strange things will do): A tangle of mistletoe dropped right on cue. And the Grinch, though quite famous for stealing décor, Had never seen flirting of this sort before.
Then chaos exploded like a tinsel grenade— Because Buck pulled Eddie in, unafraid, And the Grinch leaned close with a purr and a grin, Saying, “Make a little room… for some holiday sin?”
Suggestive? Absolutely. Unwelcome? No way. But the vibes? Let’s call them “five-alarm sleigh.” And the Grinch, who had sworn he despised every kiss, Found himself smiling, “Well THIS is a twist.”
They toppled to cushions in a welcoming heap, Laughing too loudly to let neighbors sleep. Flirtation turned charged, suggestion grew thick, Someone murmured “careful,” Another answered, “Not a chance—quick!”
In the twirl of a whirl on a bright winter night, Where the moon shimmer-glimmered in peppermint light, Three creatures (well, people—well, one slightly green) Found themselves tangled in something… unseen.
The Grinch let out laughter both naughty and neat, His toes curling up in his fuzzy green feet. Buck practically sparkled with chaotic delight, While Eddie glowed steady like fireplace light.
Their energies tangled, they twined and they spun, All wholly enthusiastic, each eager for fun. Not one of them shy, not one of them slow— They dove into mischief like three in a row Of tumble-down dominoes skittering free, All shouting, “More joy! And more you! And more we!”
The Grinch puffed up his chest with a proud little sway, Declaring, “I must say… you boys sure can play.” Buck snorted a laugh, Eddie kissed someone’s cheek, And all three agreed, “Let’s do this next week.”
For the moral, my friend, is delightfully clear: When everyone’s willing, enthusiastic, sincere— When joy’s shared in triplets with holiday spin— Then winter grows warmer from outside to in.
I saw this on Ao3 and briefly lost my full mind...clearly.
