i love governors school

i'm currently at the tennessee governors school for the arts for dance and it's so fun i got here sunday and it's thursday and i already have all these great friends and it's so great yay

i made it into gov school and i am so beyond happy i got a full ride so i don't even have to pay for anything and im so so happy

As much as I love Governor's School for the Arts, I feel like I'm slowly being stripped of my artistry. As every moment is the pursuit of perfection, I don't get a break. It's insanely structured, and I lose track of what makes me me. I miss those practice sessions that are just me messing around on piano or hours jazz improv on trombone or trumpet. I miss being able to go on 10 mile runs with friends. I miss sitting in the coffee shop talking about life. I miss being able to write music. I miss my inspiration. I miss myself. I love the music; I love most of the people; however, I don't like the way I've been feeling lately. I wish I could take a week off and come back. But it's all over Thursday...
