This King of the road here is another rarity in M1619 Wimbledon White. Let’s be clear about how many of these iconic 1968 drop-tops were sold; earlier sources claim 318 units but they’re widely cited as 518 examples.

These unique ‘68 King of the Road Mustangs have so many feature laden upgrades over regular ‘Stangs that we had to follow up with more coverage. The fact that one of these had a sticker of $330,000 at Mecum’s Dallas 2024 auction is ample testimony. The Wimbledon White’s have three features that send it into one-digit production territory. Only six units were equipped with Decor bucket seats in Saddle color, and just three had the black soft top. Per Marti Report it's the only Shelby Mustang fitted with the 3.91-ratio axle in 1968.

The red interior seen here is defo a custom redo and it totally invalidates its uniqueness. It’s offensive to some.
