having now read and finished both gideon the ninth and harrow the ninth I can say with confidence that there are most certainly better stories w/ lesbians not aimed towards small children. I can say this easily because the bar, while not quite in hell, has barely earned its way past the outer core and into the mantle of the earth. and if this was as good as lesbian fiction gets we'd all be fucking doomed

ok why does tamsyn muir literally hate fat people with ever cell of her body. ortus did not even make it a full page past being introduced in this book before she mentions his "considerable frame" and compares him to a literal hog.

one thing that surprised me about gtn is that gideon and harrow are 18 and 17 respectively like I wasn't expecting them to be younger than 20 the way fans talk about them
