5B. gather, analyse and use assessment information to improve learning and inform planning
JUSTIFICATION:
This artefact is an example of informal self assessment. I have asked students to respond to where they thought they were during the course of a project, this served as a diagnostic tool which then informed future planning. I am a big supporter on informal assessment regularly, it helps build a reflective nature in the classroom.
I have used google surveys as a form of formative and self assesment (click HERE)
and peer critiques as formative assessment (click HERE for an example)
I have found assessment information most successful when done collaboratively. And formative assessment is the best tool to improve my planning and subsequently the learning of my students. Summative assessments are great for being reflective and provide you with some what-ifs which can help develop further projects but it is formative and self assessments which I think improve the success of our learners.
