Dogs

So I hear a knock at the door and get up to go look and I walk past our dog who is just laying there stretched out in the hallway like nothing is going on and I stop and look down at him. "You gunna bark or get up or anything?" and he lifts his head, [only his head, mind you], and gives a little 'woof' and then lays back down and I want to mentally smack myself, because the dog is humoring me, but I feel like there is so much sass here.
