accidental affection – still accepting
☽: My muse drunkenly confess feelings to yours
It’s always a fine line between being buzzed and being flat out drunk. At least for Erin it was. One moment she’d feel nothing and the next she was floored. How many times had she been carried home by Ian now? He was such a good guy, coming to pick her up. He hadn’t even questioned her like everyone else would’ve. She raised her blurry hands out in front of her, prepping to do the math. 1…2…1… 3? Blank. She could count about as well as she could she see right now. She didn’t have much that night, but she also hadn’t slept in about 2 days. Toxic mix. She rested her eyes for a moment, Ian was so warm…
“Erin.” She heard her name and opened her eyes, surprised to see they were both already in her loft. “How did you…?” She shook her head slowly and squirmed, moving to get out of his arms. She stumbled, he steadied her; holding her upright. Erin kicked off her shoes and headed straight to the “L” shaped couch, tugging Ian behind. She lead him to the sofa, but he wouldn’t budge, hesitation clearly written all over his face. You didn’t have to be sober to understand why he was worried. “I’m not asking for us to do anything like the other nights…” No those were different, when both of them were inebriated. She pulled on his arm again, staring in his eyes stubbornly. “Ian!” Just stay the night and fucking cuddle me for once! “Please.” Her voice lowered, pleading. Erin was no beggar, but she didn’t want him to leave. There was no way she could handle it, she didn’t want that gross hollow feeling in the pit of her stomach. She sat down and pulled her knees up to her chin, silently watching him. Clearly, he was going through some internal struggle. She buried her head between her knees, feeling guilt for calling him in the first place. He was too good for her. He was too nice to even turn her down properly. The next thing she knew tears were slipping out, her fists squeezed. She was so stupid to drag him into this.
“You know, I hate it when you leave…“ She mumbled, her voice cracking. “I don’t know when it happened but..” She knew if she didn’t stop now, she was putting him at risk to her drunken babble. But the alcohol flowing through her reminded her that she just absolutely did not care anymore. What did she have to lose? She wiped her eyes, and raised her gaze to his own. ”I really like you Ian. I really fucking like you. More than just hanging out, more than when we drink or the.. after drinking.. activities..” Her lip was trembling, she hadn’t felt this nervous or hazy in a long time. “I want to be with you all the time and get to know you and your son, I want to be in your life..” She pushed her hair back and looked up to the ceiling, inhaling shakily. “I want you to be there when I wake up in the morning, at least every now and then. I want to kiss you all the goddamn time, and I’m sorry I called you. I just.. I wanted to see you, I…“ She sunk back against the couch, arms crossed above her eyes. “I should probably shut up and sleep.. You should forget all of this.”
