Nobel prize in medicine winner's lecture

I just got home from the lecture by the Nobel prize winner in medicine John b. Gurdon!!!

It was a really cool experience, first we had a lunch mingle where we got sandwiches and drinks and this photographer came towards us and started to talk, he was quite rude cuz as soon as we said we were going to become dentists he was like degrading the job and said how we're only after money, comparing us to car sales men, he was like oh that's like a carsales job you made a bad decision and started to brag about himself and what and where he was going to travel and what not.  yh okey just cuz you may not earn a lot of money doesnt mean you can go bash at other people for trying to get decent jobs.   

Anyways, afterwards was the lecture where Gurdon talked his research and it's background. How he had experimented with frogs and transplanting a nucleus from a mature cell into an egg to clone/differentiate the cell into other types of cells. That was really interesting. Afterwards my friend had a question and didnt dare ask in front of everyone after the lecture so we tried to get to John and ask him personally. I helped formulate the question and fight our way to the front. We asked whether taking a nucleus from a mature cell where the genome has undergone a number of cellcycles and had its telomeres(life) shortened complicates the new "life" it gets when it is put into an egg and develops yet again into something. Since its the same genes but a new body. At first we were so nervous like shaking but as we had asked and started the conversation it felt much better. In the end we asked for autographes (lol) and for a picture!
