Guess Phrase--The End?!

So tonight I decided to roll back some controversial "drinking" categories and fix up a few tiny bugs that were still hanging around in Guess Phrase. Man, it feels like ages since the last time I worked on that game... I have been getting a lot of questions about whether I plan to continue supporting Guess Phrase or what kinds of content can I add etc.. I think the best answer right now is Guess Phrase has been an awesome experience but I feel like it has nearly run its course. Of course I will continue to support Guess Phrase--bugs and device support--but, if I was to do some feature development Guess Phrase would receive a complete overhaul*. Anyhow, this means that as I type this a new and possible the last version of Guess Phrase is out on the Android Marketplace! So what are you waiting for? Go get it! (Or if you are really awesome and already have it, UPDATE IT!) Enjoy! *And this is not likely...

Guess Phrase: Halloween Content!

I know that the Guess Phrase front has been rather quiet lately. That is because there are a lot of things in the works right now in terms of new game development. I did however, take the time to work up a fun little Halloween inspired category.The new category will contain a few classic Horror movies, some nasty monsters, fun costumes, and a bunch of random Halloween trivia and props! This new category may only be around for a limited time, but I haven't made up my mind whether or not to pull it down sometime in November or December. This is because I am not sure just how much play a Halloween category will get a month after the actual holiday. That said, you can probably expect more seasonal content for Guess Phrase that may come and go throughout the year in addition to new content that will always be available for play! Enjoy!

Guess Phrase: Content Update #2

So among all this iPad/iPhone game engine work I am getting ready for the next big content update for Guess Phase. This update will likely contain 2-3 new word/phrase categories. The new candidate categories are: Technology, Sports, and Kids. The tentative release date for this content update is September 10, 2010 but may be as early as Labor Day! As usual, if there is a category you would like to see in the game post it here or send me an email.

Guess Phrase Usage Update

Guess Phrase just logged 4000+ active users today which is way more than I thought my little app could muster. I tried to wait until I got to the 5k-10k marker, but I saw the stats today and got overly excited and could not resist the urge to tell everyone! Thanks to Guess Phrase players. You rock! I am also planning on releasing another update in about 3-4 weeks which will definitely include another new set of word/phrase categories and possibly a new feature or two...I will post more on this soon.

Guess Phrase v1.1 UPDATE

Hey all, it looks like the version 1.1 release of Guess Phrase had a small infrequent bug in it that sometimes crashed the game during Cut Throat mode. Sorry about that! I have corrected the issue and pushed out a new version 1.1.1 build. Enjoy!

Guess Phrase v1.1 is LIVE!

I know its been a while since my last post, but I promise that I have been very busy getting the latest update for Guess Phrase ready for release. Well, now version 1.1 is live so go out and get it! Guess Phrase v1.1 Updates: 3 new word/phrase categories: - Cars (Well, its really just all things automotive) - Cartoons - TV Shows Bug Fixes: - Made some word/phrase corrections for current categories and removed unicode characters. - Fixed some miss labeled screens. I have received lots of great word category suggestions so far, so keep them coming! My thanks goes out to all the Guess Phrase players. Have fun with the new categories!

Guess Phrase: Content Update

 The first update for Guess Phrase is scheduled tenatively for August 8, 2010. The update will include 1-2 new word/phrase categories as well as a fix for few words in existing categories (thanks to Amber, Drew, Caleb, and Andrea for finding them). Some of the new categories I am considering adding for this update include: Sports Kids stuff Cartoons Historical Events Science Art Most of these categories have been suggested to me by other Guess Phrase players so if anyone else out there has a category they would like to see in the game post a comment and I will add it to the list!

So I have gathered up some statistics from the first ~24 hours on the marketplace! From my Android Developer Console: Downloads 787 total 632 active installs (80%) Errors (This is part that really makes me happy!) Crashes 0 new 0 reports 0 reports/week 0% 0 old 0 reports 0 reports/week 0% Freezes 0 new 0 reports 0 reports/week 0% 0 old 0 reports 0 reports/week 0% For just one day on the marketplace, I think these are mighty fine statistics for such a simple little game.
