@guidesdead has found Ivakir!
Something was biting her. At first, it was a light nibbling, almost a game, just like her pet raven usually woke her up in the morning. Then the bites became much stronger, and the thought rushed into her brain: "Someone is trying to eat me and for some reason I don't resist". When small teeth dug into her cheek, she felt something warm flowing down her skin. Ivakir tried to shake her head, but felt that she could not do it for some reason.
Her loud voice scared the creature away. But for how long?
She has been this position for quite a long time. At first, she thought she just broke her spine, and that would be an understandable reason why she didn't feel anything below the neck and couldn't move. A little later, she realized that she also couldn't feel the beating heart. And hunger. And thirst.
Great, what to do now. Ivakir always asked herself this question when she got stuck in various kinds of situations. Usually, the answer would appear immediately in front of her, but this time ... this time it was different. She could have felt fear, but Iv realized that she felt almost nothing but anger. Anger for being in such a situation; anger with herself that she didn't know a single spell that would help her. But even so, there had to be ways to get out.
Another question was - how did she get here? The last thing she remembered was how she walking down the street, and then darkness fell. There was an understanding, a realization what could have happened to her - a very obvious one, but painfiul and sore. Abandoned in the middle of the forest with a broken spine, forgotten and left for local predators. What kind of predators can there be? Foxes? Wolves? No, mice and insects will get to her first. They will start from her cheeks, crawl into her mouth, eating out her brain and her eyes. It be will such a painful and slow death thta she won't be able to kill herself. But still... it was not the reason to give up and wait for when the death will come. Ivakir Pokray doesn’t give up.
She heard something walking very close to her. Who was it? Damn, she couldn’t even turn her head! They were coming closer and closer, she could hear the leaves rustle under their leg. And when they came closer, when their leg was just a step away from her head, the witch screamed.
