On February 27th 1860 #AbrahamLincoln gave his #speech at #CooperUnion in front of 1500 people, including Horace Greeley, William Cullen Bryant and Henry Jarvis Raymond (founder of The NY Times). He argued against the expansion of slavery, and finished with the words, "Let us have faith that right makes might and in that faith let us dare to do our duty". This #bust of #Lincoln is in an exhibit of Cooper Union's history next to the #GreatHallofCooperUnion, where 7 US presidents have spoken. Tomorrow, May 12th, I will offer a free walking tour about Lincoln's visit to New York starting at 11.00 a.m. at City Hall Fountain.
