Time for scream
Simba the Lavender Guinea keet is getting his crest and wattles!
Also, uh... yeah. It happened again.
Well, she hatched out 14. Nice bunch.
These are the keets our white guinea hen was originally incubating. We took the eggs inside to finish hatching. Nice group, growing fast. The colors were unexpected, so I assume another hen dropped some of her eggs in that nest.
Fresh new keets to shake up the genetics in our guinea flock.
Keets have feathers now! All 20 are still kickin', though I suspect the whites are just not as healthy/hardy as other colors. They're almost always smaller, and that's the case with the two in this group as well. We actually lost both whites that we kept from the previous hatch.
Keets are settled. They all got soaked running through their water in a panic while I was moving them in here. Ridiculous. They trip over each other and bounce off the walls like frightened mice. It's silly.
