#Latepost (This post was written yesterday): I thought I’ve seen PJ Morton perform live before. I thought I knew this artist that used to perform at Harmony in Life in Atlanta early years when the independent soul music scene was brewing. I thought I saw him perform in his hometown in New Orleans at ESSENCE Festival to a room full of visiting fans. I thought I saw him on a number of stages and at a number of festivals and private parties, but clearly all those performances were only there to lead me to what I experienced last night at Brooklyn Bowl! I am still trying to put the right words together to articulate the energy that was in the room last night. That sold out room did come to play!! They sang every song on all the right keys and shouted for every Holy Ghost that #PJMorton was shooting out from the stage. PJ on the other hand came to Brooklyn, served us extra spicy Gumbo on ten and just left us there up in arms for more. He fed our souls then wiped us out and all I can do the morning after is shake my head on this train, rewatch all these video clips that you can swipe to view and write this long ass post cause I still want to stay in that high. I still want to be surrounded in that energy from last night. PJ, I walked away from your show saying who the hell was that? I’m still speechless so I can’t say nothing but thank you.
