Caraway Mansion
Seifer was getting frustrated as he was in yet again in another argument with the woman he swore to protect. That woman's name was Rinoa Heartilly.
After the events of the sorceress wars. Things were calm, Seifer had changed for the better. He had realized that his dream did not have to be his alone, he could share it and the dream could become a reality. After sometime Rinoa and Squall began to become distant with one another. Rinoa had realized that her heart still beats for her first love. She needed passion, she needed fire, her heart ached for Seifer Almasy. Squall knew this and appeared at the training center to talk to Seifer. Seifer and Squall had never seen eye to eye, not as children and definitely not as adults. However, Rinoa's safety was something they respectfully agreed on. They both wanted what was best to her. Seifer promised Squall that he had nothing to worry about and Rinoa would be fine. However, Seifer also stated that Rinoa's knight was now him and him alone. That was the last time Seifer and Squall spoke to one another.
Seifer would now spend most of his nights at Caraway Mansion with Rinoa. Although Rinoa did not like staying at her father's mansion. She knew it would be hers one day, and as long as she was with Seifer she didn't seem to mind that much. However, on this day the two had been bickering back and forth like cats and dogs.
Rinoa as of late was having nightmares of these girls. She always described them perfectly. At first she thought they were just dreams, but she was dreaming about them for weeks. One of the girls she dreamed about was a tough girl who wore almost all black, and had a fighting style that resembled her friend Zell Dincht. Another was a girl who was dressed like a thief, but was very cute like Selphie. Finally, the last was a girl who wielded two pistols. She even went as far to say that she saw them fighting girls that fought like high ranked ninjas. When Seifer heard her describe these girls he laughed, but then rumors began to spread about three girls in this exact attire that Rinoa described had been spotted. It had to be a coincidence, but Rinoa would not buy it.
"Rin...we don't even know them. They're as much strangers to us as the enemies they are fighting." Seifer tried to explain.
"Seifer, they are one of us. I know I can't explain it. But, when I saw them. It was like they knew me from another world or something. I'm not going to turn my back on them. " Rinoa argued back and placed her hands on her hips; trying to stand her ground.
"Rin...we don't even know who or why they're fighting. To be honest from what you've told me I don't even know why they are fighting either. They're too many question marks, and its best if we don't get involved." Seifer said and turned his back.
"What happened to you? The man I fell in love with would never turn his back on his friends or his posse. The man I knew made me believe I could do anything. Yet you stand here and want to do nothing. I'm going to help my friends, with or without you." Rinoa said as she headed for the door.
Seifer quickly grabbed her hand. "WAIT!!" he said. "I don't believe in this battle, and for that I'm not going with you. But, I did make a promise that I will always be with you. So here..." Seifer said as he walked to the nearby drawer. He would then push buttons on the side keypad and a gunblade case slowly came out. Seifer sighed as he opened it and showed Rinoa.
"The name of this gunblade is "Vanishing Star". I had a weapon maker create it for me. Originally it was made to fight alongside the Hyperion. Together, their power is strong enough to take on the "Lionheart". But on this night, I want you to use it. Not for your friend's protection, but for your own. I have not had the chance to test it yet. So please use it with caution. I know our training sessions have not been long. But I feel you are ready to fight on your own. However, I would never gamble you away to those people so easily. If the gunblade is too hard for you and you find yourself needing help. I have arranged the weapon maker to make this for you. It's called "Silenced Tear", and as you can see its a Blaster's Edge. A weapon you are very familiar with. For best performance find a way to make them both work together for your advantage." Seifer instructed.
Seifer turned away and sighed as he heard Rinoa cock the gunblade and attach her new blaster's edge to her wrist. As he heard her leave, his mind begged to say "Rinoa! Please don't go!!" but his lips did not dare speak. Upon hearing the door shut behind Rinoa. Seifer picked up his phone and called his posse. "Raijin, get Fujin and I want you to follow Rinoa. She just left Caraway's Mansion. If I know her, she'll be in a hurry. So check all of the train routes. Her ID is TI145. Keep in contact with me every hour on the hour." Seifer instructed and quickly hung up the phone. He began to wonder if what he did was right or not. But what's done couldn't be undone. He had to place his faith in Rinoa at this point.
3 days later
Seifer had been briefed every hour by Raijin and Fujin. Although they could not see her, they had kept tabs of her whereabouts. Until now. Seifer got a call from Fujin. His grip on the phone tightened as he heard her explain that her id card had not moved for quite sometime. Her last location was that of the fire caverns. Seifer through the cell phone against the wall out of anger. He then grabbed his trench coat and realized it was time to do what he should have done. Rinoa was right, even if he didn't agree with these other fighters and their war. Seifer was Rinoa's knight, and he should have stood by her like the knight he always told her he was. Seifer promised to rectify this mistake by finding Rinoa and making sure that she was safe. For if she wasn't....he felt sorry for the poor soul that dare harmed her.
Seifer quickly made his way to the fire cavern via the Ragnarok. It was Balamb Garden's property. However being head of Balamb's Disciplinary Committee definitely had its advantages. The fire cavern was a place that Seifer knew too well. It was were the first part of the SeeD exam took place. The very exam Seifer had never passed. On this day, something was very strange. Seifer was sure he was in the right place, but it looked completely different. It was covered in ice and not fire. Upon looking around, Seifer saw signs of a huge battle that happened. Yet no sign of human life anywhere.
Seifer folded his arms and tried to think like Rinoa. First, he needed an explanation for the ice. A long time ago, Seifer and Rinoa had promised each other that they wanted to make their own memories from now on, and for that to happen. That would mean they couldn't use a GF(Guardian Force) anymore. Rinoa was not the type to lie or go back on her word. So The ice GF, Shiva couldn't have been responsible for this. Even so, the ice was so powerful, it seemed to be past Shiva's potential. Seifer would then look to the side, and his face would awe in horror as he saw pretty white feathers.
"Dammit!" Seifer said as he knew the feathers belonged to Rinoa. Which meant she resorted to using her Angel wing ability. Where the enemies that tough? That she would resort to this? At any rate, where was she? The enemies. Nothing made sense. Suddenly, Seifer realized the answer was in front of his face the whole time. As he looked up he saw parts of Moon almost oozing down. It looked as if it was crying. With Rinoa was in Angel Wing mode, anything was possible. Out of answers, Seifer realized only one person could help him now. The one person who he hated most. Squall Leonhart. Squall knew someone who could track Rinoa through time. If she did it for Squall before, then Seifer was going to make her do it for him. By any means necessary.
