The second most prominent family in Willow Creek, the Goth family has seen quite a bit of change in the past decade. They began with a high - Bella had a set of healthy twins which was seen as a very good omen, Gunta and Cornelius. But in 1304 Cassandra was considered a woman grown and shocked everyone by running away and choosing Brad Burb as her husband.
That same year Lolita was born and sickness sweat through the area, taking Cornelius Goth away from them. In 1305 Bella miscarried, which unfortunately took her life, forcing Mortimer to remarry almost immediately to Birgit Maid in hopes the new marriage would drive away their bad luck.
1309 brought with it Alexander's birthday, making him the man of the house when Mortimer mysteriously passed away following Birgit having a miscarriage. Though Alexander is engaged to Karmine Luna he's facing pressure to marry Olivia instead and isn't sure what to do - especially since he needs to think about his stepmother and little sister's futures too.
Alexander is a man at war with himself. He grew up wanting to always do the right thing, falling in love with the stories the village elders and priests would tell. He wanted to be like the heroes in those stories - to vanquish great evil and to rescue the helpless. This romantic side made him fall head over heels for Karmine Luna at first site... but he knows marrying her will cause trouble for his family, perhaps even for her family.

Gunta herself is a sweet girl, if a bit shy, with an unseemly interest in animals for one of her station.
