here wendy comes, arms extended and a happy grin on her face. black as night were her wings, flapping excitedly as she hurries over. "daddy, look! i got it to work! i got it to work!!" ( @gurlfrendd )

He looks up to his daughter's excited shout, and immediately a massive grin spreads on the dad's face, standing to raise his harms and catch her in a hug that lifts her clean off the floor as he cackles.

" Haha! See-- I knew you would! That's how ya do it, princess! Hold on-- let me get a look at 'em! " She's pulled away from him, but he's holding them out stretched from him still lifted off the ground. The demon, against all his mean features, makes the most heart melting expression at her. " They're just like your mother's..." He smiles and lets them down. " I'm so proud, sweetheart! Can you fly with 'em? "

𓏶✧♫✧♪ || It wasn't... that he's never eaten before. He obviously has over the course of this many years-- but it was such an uncommon hobby to dabble in for the pure-blooded demon who clearly did not carry gluttony as one of his sins. And something about the slightly off way he eats certainly implies it...

He lifts his fork, he opens his toothy grin, he closes down on it. He consciously motions his teeth to chew the foreign object in his mouth. He swallows. He's silent. He realizes they want a response and darts his eyes to the left. He smiles wider. " Yeah, that-- that tastes so much like food, son! You do all this without the henchmen's help? Good job. " He nods. Fuck, the mother was much better at this. But his dear child wanted HIM to try it. How can he say no? His tone was in no way insincere, just... unsure. Although, truthfully, he would swallow it if it was inedible too. For someone who eats nothing, he can stomach just about anything.

" I mean-- I never had it before so I dunno how it's s'posed to taste, but-- it should probably taste like that, sure! "

paul is not one to wimp out of a challenge, or flee from an argument; usually he likes to take things on head first, usually to his detriment. no one could convince him to fly instead of fight, but in regards to the karen he'd ran into, he'd rather take flight than fight, and risk getting irreversible damage. and so, he hides behind his father, looking at her with apprehensive an rather teary eyes. { gurlfrendd / paul || scary church lady go brrr ( feel free to ignore djdhhf ) }

𓏶✧♫✧♪ || Woah, woah, woah His temper flared and nerves went on guard so fast that just within the second it took to hold them by the shoulder they'd feel his claws already out, horns threatening to shape up fully, curved and tall as a bull's. He stares daggers in the direction of whoever his son is looking to.

And what was it that scared his boy? ... Some housewife? But wait. He sees it now that HALO. Not the literal golden ring floating over them like you see in the paintings-- it was like a glow around the brim, silhouetting, a second sense that would run in this demonic family. A built in red flag. His lip twitches with disgust. Look close and you could see the hatred rising off him like black flames.

There was a reason other than resentment he never wanted an angel anywhere NEAR his kid. Those harpies had a gift a gift for making you feel lesser. Beneath them, worthless-- your very existence, wrong. He'd tear off their wings inch by inch before he let them poison his kids with that crap!

" Stay here. " He tells his young demon, his words somewhere under the unholy growl in his voice. " Daddy's going to have a TALK with her... "
