ah! very sneaky of you! now i want to reel it back a bit, gus. you mentioned that your company is small, but extremely successful. how have you been thinking to expand the company? many others in your position would be considering consolidating with other firms, or buying out new businesses! what's something we can look forward to in the near or foreseeable future?

He presses his lips back tightly and stares at you a second, before tapping his desk and sitting up to face you more deliberately.

"dude, im going to level with you, because you seem kind of like an idiot."

"i killed that guy. the guy that started this place? i got into his head, i manipulated him into giving me the company, and then i killed him."

"so, uh, when i want to do something else, ill probably just do that again."

You know I work a little further away than where I live so I have to get all this stuff done before I leave for work

Do conversations translate and not.music? How about thoughts?

He sighs. The technicalities of it don't really interest him to explain.

"it, it's like."

He bites his thumbnail for a second and then waves his around hand a bit in thought.

"we get the information, not the input. we don't hear what you hear, but we know what you hear. with thoughts it's the same thing. your thoughts aren't like, in my brain--"

He taps the side of his head.

"--but we know what they are."

"could tell you were enjoying your music. that make sense?"

Before you can reply, he nods.

"good, good."

"eh, hard to say. music doesn't translate so well, least not at this stage."

"looks like we were right about the lusus though. just expected it to be bigger. that things shrimpy."

He drags his hand down his face, pulling down his eyelid.

"why do you wake up so fucking early?"

wow gus! that's an incredible ability! so no conditions need to be met but are there drawbacks? limitations?

He lines up the next dart.

"nothin' that cant be addressed with time, practice, and a lil resourcefulness."

i think i remember u in my notes abt glurpi becoming enemies/friends of lory and/or gus… SO I WANNA KNOW MORE 🤓 can i get some q’s from the ask meme for gus… his name stood out to me LOL

HEHEHE YESSSSS GLURPI….. i lov his design and he seems so fun. lory and gus are ridiculous so i think he could be friends w one or both of them… if u like…. gus is kind of uhmmm a bad guy tho. he is Not Nice. so 0 pressure 🫶

okay okie asks tho:

10 - What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

sooo he have a full arc since he’s on this collaborative RP blog <:) i don’t have a solid overarching plot for him or anything! it’s free flowing it’s growing etc… but id say his story on the blog mostly started when he met Dr. Colmea Nomura, the only person he’s ever met that’s been resistant to his fungal hivemind abilities. he takes an interest in Gus because he’s performing research on fungus himself, and i’d say a lot of Gus’s arc and character development right now centers around their relationship and their work with Gus’s abilities and how their work affects Gus’s life.

as an arc i’m mostly interested in Gus being forcefully knocked out of his denial. he’s a guy that doesn’t like to think about anything that upsets him, and if something upsets him he gets rid of it.

i can’t imagine him having a happy ending tbh, everything as far as i’ve thought or considered for him sucks pretty bad! him getting worse in different directions x)

12 - Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?

UMM HEHE YES…. here it is

i like music for him that feels a little slimy! some reverb, a round beat, stuff that’s fun an funky and/or reminds me of his abilities. they’re not all perfect lyrical matches for him but the vibe always gets me in the Gus Zone >:]

19 - What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?

my favorite thing about him is how easy he is to write and play with. he’s such an unserious guy, but he’s also very nasty and says whatever he thinks, so he really just rolls right out for me even when i don’t have a ton of muse for him (which isn’t often hehe). he’s really easy to play with because he likes people he’s just a bastard!!! i also really like his physical design; his moles and stupid hat and his second pupil…

my least favorite thing is his outfit !! i put him in a jumpsuit originally cuz i like them but im not sure i like that for him anymore or if it makes sense day-to-day. but he looks so gooood im so hesitant to touch it. ALSO HES HARD TO DRAW!!! i know what he looks like but very time i draw him it feels incorrect…. but i just need to draw him more, obviously (i draw him way more than i post….)

Gus if you were to make a deal with a compant to make a themed snack about you what would you want it to be

He pokes his tongue into the corner of his mouth and swivels his chair in thought.

"mean, we gotta go for something crunchy, right?"

"how about like a folded chip -- the best kind of chip -- like a spicy, cheesy one."

"or maybe a puff cuz then they could make it shaped like a mushroom or something, y'know, for the themes. all cute like that."
