Father's Day
Dad, a son's first hero and a daughter's first love.

And, of course, the shitty father club featuring Gustav (Jane's father), Crimson, and Deathslinger. The latter is only there to rub it in their faces that he has no kids... that he knows of, at least.

How did Gustav react to his wife's death, and what did he do after her passing?
Honestly, it didnt really affect him. They didn’t love each other; their marriage was arranged. However, he never remarried.
The only woman he would have remarried to was his first love Flora, the only woman he ever truly loved. And given how things ended between them, he’s not sure she’d accept him—even if he knew where she is, that is.
How does Gustav feel about his daughter Maggie? Does he at least approve of her husband or Alice and Lauren's father?
I'd say he's on better terms with Maggie, but she's still distant and clearly doesn't think too highly of him as a father either.
He's… okay with them, but he's disappointed that neither of them have produced sons. He does recognize that Trina's husband, Harry, is a better father than he was despite having only two daughters.
Which one of his surviving daughters does Gustav dislike the most?
Trina, absolutely. She's a very disinterested mother who didn't even nurse her daughters because 'it'd ruin her figure'. After her divorce from her husband, she was more than happy to let him keep them too. She only ever agreed to get pregnant in the hopes of giving birth to a son, thus securing her inheritance—but she only had two daughters.
The worst part is what she told him everytime he confronted her attitude
"I wonder who I learned it from."
She threw back in his face the fact that HE was the same with her and her sisters. So what right does he have to give her a sermon about being a 'godo mother'?
How do Alice and Lauren feel about Gustav's favoritism towards Jake? Are they aware that Gustav wants Jake to be his sole heir?
Well, they both think it’s unfair. Like, Gustav’s known them for their entire lives, yet as soon as Jake—whom he’s never directly interacted with for 13 years due to Striker never letting him—comes into the picture, all his attention and love instantly shifts to him just because ‘he’s a boy’? Not just them, anyone would find it unfair.
The difference is that Alice has taken the time to know Jake, and sees that he is NOT comfortable with the apparent favoritism either. The only reason Jake sticks around the hacienda is because he wants to learn more about his mother Jane, and what better place for that than the one where she grew up in?
And no, they’re not aware that Jake has been legally declared the universal heir to all of Gustav’s assets. Not even Jake himself knows.
But unbeknown to most people, the favoritism towards Jake is NOT because of his gender.
Did Gustav ever found out Trina placed barbed wire under Jake's pony's saddle or did she manage to blame somebody else?
He hasn't found out yet. Trina covered her tracks well.
All I can say for now is that she's not alone in this.
Is Crimson the source of Gustav's horses?
Not exactly. Rather, they’re both into NightMare trafficking. Gustav puts the maintenance, holding location in Wrath and equipment to handle the hellhorses, Crimson puts the men and takes care of the selling in the other rings, and they share the profits.
How did Gustav find out about Jake and what was his reaction when he realise he has a grandson.
It was actually an accident. When Jake was two years old, he briefly got separated from Striker during the Harvest Moon Festival and happened to run into Gustav. He didn't pay much attention to the impling until Striker appeared and took him away.
He didn't need to be a genius to figure it out, especially when he noticed the impling had the same eyes as Jane. Just to be sure, he had a PI investigate the issue.
When the PI confirmed that the impling was Jane's child, Gustav went nuts. He'd go around La Arango telling whoever he happened to see that he has a grandson. Heck, he even called Crimson in the middle of the night just to tell him that.
