underrated guy lines from Walkabout s2x10
feat. my bad screenshots
speaking of guy and wolves i wish there was a clearer close up of the wolf details on his gloves and chest because their really cool
the way in which when guy does get affection from marian whether thats a kiss or just a touch on the shoulder hes not boastful about it he doesn't react loudly instead he gives a small smile or acknowledges the touch by looking at her hand or says "that it was the most perfect thing that's ever happened" and he genuinely means it
after Guys confrontation with the sheriff, the one where the sheriff stabs his sword in Guy's thigh, he walks with an occasional limp, not one most people would notice but it is there. his thigh gets numb in cold rooms if hes there too long or if he stays still too long. he has visible scar tissue though he tries to avoid others seeing it
i’ve been thinking how a lot of the wealth and money guy has doesn’t actually belong to him, it would belong to the sheriff or the king or it would go towards the upkeep of the castle
so when he does get something that belongs to him like the chest of silver of course he wants to keep it and guard it himself and it’s very important to him and he would want to celebrate it with marian
but then of course robin and marian have to steal it from him anyway because i guess guy isn’t aloud anything to be his
even before exile guy doesn’t seem to have many friends, he has isabella of course but she’s younger, he has robin but again he comes across as an annoying younger brother or a rival. he doesn’t seem to have a friend his own age which means he’s been a loner and an outcast his whole life
AU where the night his parents die the village doesn’t exile him. He does inherit the land like he was meant to. He’s still angry and intense because he lost both his parents but he’s good to the villagers, strict but fair. There is still conflict because Guy is french and some of the villagers still don’t trust his family but most of the villagers will defend him. Guy and Isabella do not part ways until much later and they part on relatively good terms.
Something about Guy's redemption arc being foreshadowed from the start.
In the finale of season one he tells Thornton "i have committed crimes. Heinous crimes" and "her pure heart will cleanse mine" this means he wants redemption, he wants forgiveness, he feels guilt over what he has done.
In the same episode. When Much is shouting that hes a traitor, a liar and Guy and Marian are standing at the alter, he tells Marian "i have done wrong," it is simple and it is not a direct confession but its enough to signal to the audience that he recognises and is able to acknowledge the bad things he has done especially and most importantly is able to acknowledge them to Marian.
Unfortunately for Guy acknowledging these things and marrying Marian are not enough to become one of the good ones, he is still working under the sheriff and still committing the crimes he wants forgiven but in season 3 when he does denounce the sheriff it means he is finally able to choose for himself and finally, maybe be redeemed.
