Hey guys, reminder that if a ship only a minor background detail/is barely mentioned/etc in your fic, please tag it in the additional tags instead of the main relationship tags..... I feel like I've been clickbaited twice in the last couple of days while scrolling through my favourite rarepair's tag because someone decided to put them in the main relationships tag, only for the additional tags to reveal they were only there "if you squint" and the like
#guys seriously...#if the ship is only there “if you squint” then don't put it in the main relationship tags!!#if the ship was canon to your fic in the past but is not currently in the fic (nor a main focus) then don't put it in the relationship tags!#while it might make filtering easier for those who don't like the ship it's just annoying for those of us who do...#sorry for ranting I'm tired#moth rambles#fanfic#ao3#fanfiction#like if their relationship plays a big role in the fic without being the central focus that's another thing#but if it's a thing where “they used to be together but one of them isn't even around and the other is in a new relationship” then don't...#please...#these examples are oddly specific I'm sorry#I'm a little bit salty...
