Tychon & Luka's first kiss. featuring tychon's "in between styles" bob. Tychon is not normally super emotionally intelligent, so using words to explain how he's feleing is really hard. Thankfully Luka's first language is touch, and he's more than okay with hearing Ty out.

Question, how does pollination work in the garden?

Pollination is fundamentally different but behaves the same as real pollination. Meaning:

To "pollinate" two or more flowers will have to share "pollen" with each other. But "pollen" is not normal pollen. It's more conceptual, like everything else in the garden. It's things like admiration, respect, a sense of awe when interacting with someone. Literally just telling someone "you do great things and I admire that" would count as pollination.

scarlet & maeva in wedding dresses just because i wanted it.

i kind of doubt the traditional "white dress wedding" exists as we know it in Golden Verse but y'know hwat. i wanted my girls in pretty dresses >:| maeva isn't that tall, it's just that scarlet is small. mae is 5'9 and scarlet is 5'2.

10: what's an au that you would explore?

this is so hard to answer lol . technically gv started as the ""au"" to dragon age universe. I can't really think of anything off the cuff tho.

12: is your OC self destructive?

tychon: ty smokes on occasion and has irregular eating habits but broadly I would say no, not really.

Luka: Luka has a bad habit of denying himself things if he hasn't "earned" them. can be small things but most notably it was love, or a relationship. he felt he did bad at them and hesitated making a move on tychon because he didn't feel he deserves to try. otherwise, he ends up losing out or hurting himself by being demanding and a bit of a control freak by not always taking novel ideas into consideration.

17: what is the worst thing you put them through story wise?

tychon: he does technically kill his grandmother. on purpose. it's very physically painful, emotionally complex and he takes on a lot of risk to life and social standing doing so. he doesn't love her like a real member of his family, but he still respects her and wants to do right by her when he can, so he grants her death.

Luka: Luka's mother dies of a long term sickness when he's about 13/14, leaving him effectively orphaned. his father lives but was not interested in parenting his younger children (Luka and his sister). luka's sister, 15 years older than him, helps raise him. Luka didn't have a good model of how relationships should work growing up, and with his mother gone, he lacks a confidant to help guide him. his sister is a good substitute parent, but he misses his mother a great deal.

working on setting up a picture of tychon & maybe luka in their full “work” gear. 

they teach in regular street clothes but on the field on research trips they have full kit and frankly, tychon’s makes him look ridiculous.

Tychon’s outfit...

He works in frequently dusty or otherwise kind of musty environments, so a cloth face mask might be worn primarily to protect against breathing in a bunch of dust. plus he’s just not in love with the idea of breathing in corpse dust all the time. he’d have some kind of glasses with magnifying lenses attached for fine detail work. he can’t clean bones with magic right away, and usually takes care to carefully take leftover tissue off the bones he’s examining. Small bones, especially joints, need to be totally cleaned before they can be magically examined.

a plain white shirt, provided by the university. there would be a bellflower logo embroidered on the sleeve or chest, identifying him as an associate of bells university. white is pretty antithetical to the frequently dusty work, and it’s not his favorite, but it’s just clothes. he makes it work.

leather gloves. protects against accidental pokes and cuts from his tools, as well as just keeping his hands clean.

finally, work boots. ty loves boots in general and while his work shoes are more utilitarian than his preferred basic black boots, he’s comfortable. a lot of his work ends up being in ruins or outside of well-established towns and heavier duty footwear & pants that wear well are a must.

i think the dumbest design decision i’ve ever accidentally/subconsciously made was making tychon’s aunt & his mom have names associated with their hair colors.

Aurelia (blond, his mom) and Scarlet (ginger).

really he was just meant to have a lot of redheads in the extended family and it just. happened like that. i didn’t do it on purpose.

i need to draw scarlet’s wife meredith soon.

luka is a natural charmer and it’s a skill he hones proudly. he *is* charming. and he knows how to use it to great effect, whether it’s conveying genuine empathy or manipulating his talents to get a result he wants.

using his charm to get what he wants is absolutely something he does - but he can feel bad about it. sometimes it feels manipulative of a person, and not a situation. he avoids that. but he thinks of social exchanges not unlike bartering. There is something in this exchange he might want, and something the other person wants. and he will almost always come out on top.

luka likes winning. he likes taking charge, because he’s honestly genuinely good at leading. he’s good at directing and coordinating. he is very much the shepherd barking orders at the herding dogs, and as long as he has good dogs under his lead, things do go smoothly.

i kinda want to write something with him sort of relying on his old habits to test the waters with tychon only to be a bit dumbfounded and, honestly, frustrated that it just doesn’t work. tychon scores kind of low in emotional intelligence, but he does try. but he’s just not likely to pick up when someone is very obviously flirting unless they’re doing so in a way that means something to him. that said, if someone directly points it out, he can usually see that he’s being targeted for romantic intent. 

yeah i really wanna write that. a little thing on the premise of what happens when luka catches feelings and what he does or doesn’t do to convey that to tychon, deaf to flirting.
