I *so* appreciate you being the main person reblogging GW stuff. Though I gotta say I'm a little upset this show is 30 years old.....
I’m so happy to be your primary GW provider. What an honor. Like many people in the US, I watched GW for the first time on the Adult Swim run which while wasn’t 30 years ago was still *check notes* 25 years ago. That can’t possibly be right!
- Another one only #ChampManFPL players deal with. Looking at #GW30 & #GW31. Fun one to make, this was. https://youtu.be/Db1OkFmOCpI https://www.instagram.com/p/CCtyxQ6n1Di/?igshid=gjaqeqpsf1im
- I neglected going social media for the videos for a few days. A look at #GW29 & #GW30 IN #ChampManFPL. Also, BOŠKO BALABAN!!! https://youtu.be/IxqxK33qTwk https://www.instagram.com/p/CCszwvNHYXm/?igshid=13a5qe4kxdsl8
Prepare for Gameweek 31 – Dare to be different?
With the biggest gameweek ever right around the corner, I thought it was time to look at some of the less obvious picks. If you're sitting at the top of a mini league then you will probably be happy sticking with the tried and tested players, but if you're chasing it's the perfect time to take a risk or 2... remember, it's also Bonus Transfer week, so make full use of them.
Goalkeepers
Adrian - 3.3m
He took over from Jussi at Christmas and since then he's firmly established himself as number 1... keeping 5 clean sheets in his last 10 games. In GW30 West Ham travel to a Stoke side that have averaged just a goal a game this season and in GW31 they have 2 home games - Man Utd and Hull City. I'm confident he can keep 2 clean sheets during this time and then there's his price tag, so if you need to free up funds or you're creating a new team especially for the week, you can't go wrong.
Mignolet - 7.6m
A bit of a disappointment for me this season, he's currently the games 2nd most expensive keeper but only the 7th highest points scorer. Currently, the most popular keeper is Wojciech Szczesny but if you look at Arsenal's next 5 fixtures, you might want to make a change. Liverpool have a tough away game against Man Utd this weekend but after that the DGW sees them play Cardiff and Sunderland. If you have no Liverpool defenders then he's definitely worth consideration.
Defenders
Davies - 4.0m
What a season he's having, surely an England call up isn't far away? Apart from a few indifferent performances, Hull have been solid this season and Curtis also likes to get forward - scoring 4 goals in all competitions. A home game vs Man City would usually scare me to death but with Aguero looking like a major doubt and City struggling for goals, they might be able to keep them out. Hull's DGW fixtures are against West Brom and West Ham - points galore!
Kompany - 7.7m
He might seem like an obvious choice but currently he isn't owned by many of us. Now that City have crashed out of Europe and the FA Cup, the league is their only priority and I can't see Kompany being rested going forward. The fact that City have 2 more DGW's to be arranged means he's a no brainer in my eyes. You could go with Zabeleta but Kompany is more of a goal threat, less likely to be rested and he costs less.
Midfielders
Henderson - 5.5m
Most people will be deciding between Gerrard, Coutinho and Sterling... screw that, go with Hendo! 6 assists, 3 goals and he hasn't missed an EPL game this season. He might not be consistent with his attacking returns but against the likes of Cardiff and Sunderland, I foresee another double point performance.
Sissoko - 4.6m
Ben Arfa has been one of the biggest disappointments this season and Cabaye's departure left us with no viable Newcastle midfielders, or did it? Like Hendo, Sissoko has been ever present this season and in the last few games, Anita and Tiote have allowed him the freedom to get forward a lot more. A trip to Fulham and a pair of DGW home fixtures against Crystal Palace and Everton = very tempting!
Forwards
Lukaku - 10.3m
After a few weeks out due to injury, he's back! Everton really missed him, blanking in 2 out of the 3 games and he had to climb off the bench to save the day against West Ham. Everton's next 3 look really tasty, home to Cardiff and then DGW fixtures vs Swansea and Newcastle. He's very much a viable alternative if you're not going with the SaS + Rooney or RvP combo.
Giroud - 11.4m
I was going to go with Remy but slight doubts over his fitness see me leaning towards Giroud. He's not that bad is he? 26 starts, 12 goals and 7 assists in the EPL this season, not too shabby at all. With Ozil and Walcott out and Ramsey struggling for fitness, Arsenal need him firing. The only worry for me is the fixtures - Tottenham away, then a DGW that sees them play Chelsea and Swansea, he's a risk but at this stage of the season you may need to take some...
That's it from me, there's plenty of other hidden gems out there though, so do a little research and best of luck over the next few gameweeks.
Donut out!
