uh, every single ship when i wrote coco on her own blog/as a canon character. i put it down to the fact that the early days in the rw//by fandom were golden due to the setting and theme of the show, making every relationship feasible; most of the characters had a reason to be in any setting needed for an interaction, so it was just the perfect combination for roleplaying ships/making aus. it still might be, but the fandom has gotten so bad that it’s not worth finding out lol. i miss those golden days though. combining the setting with coco’s flirty tendencies, there were like 50 ships that definitely would’ve never happened elsewhere (or canonly ... but this is a positivity meme not a salt meme)

mala’s on hiatus but @gwinnetts is another one of those rpers who’s just so dedicated to their muses. like mala thinks of scenarios and questions that i would never think of for my own muses, and the consideration and time she puts in to make sure everything is as realistic and thought out as possible is so impressive. every muse mala adds is one i come out with a new appreciation for (see: maccready, who i was meh about before but now i love with my whole heart). also shes so nice and patient with me ;-; it’s nice to know someone else with the curse of “i cant stop replaying fallout 4″ and it means more cool mods & screenshots to look at

ARMS CROSS over his chest, the CIGARETTE hanging from between his lips acting as SOMETHING of the only light for the time being as he REMAINS silent for a moment. HE’S NOT exactly keen on DISCUSSING the matter at hand but with DESTRUCTION on the horizon he’s PRESSED to speak.

“The Brotherhood aren’t going to CEASE you know, THEIR BOY KING is keen to have the Commonwealth under his thumb and I suspect he’ll be PUTTING a target on your back to do it. BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY is an understatement so I sincerely hope you have a PLAN for how to...DEAL with him. Otherwise you’ll be juggling the INSTITUTE and the Brotherhood which is a RECIPE for disaster.”

“Okay, I won’t tell you.”  Okay, indeed.  The rotor winding’s coiled around the rotor, and it’s done right, he knows this, he literally just did it himself.  Stator winding’s where it should be in the teeth of the stator, it’s all snug as a bug in a rug inside the yoke.  Three phase AC supply, DC excitation, all of it’s good to go, so why isn’t it-

The generator coughs once, twice.  False starts for a moment before choking down.  And just as he’s about to admit that sure, maybe...Maybe sleep is a good idea because clearly if he can’t get a simple generator up and running, he’s obviously way loopier than he’s originally thought, it finally sputters to life with a seriousness.

He’s a man that’s been called a mind that comes along once in a few centuries.  He’s fought in galactic wars in a suit of armor he built with his own hands.  He’s stood shoulder to shoulder with gods and has been counted as their equal.  His best friend is a legendary war hero from World War II.  He was voted People’s Sexiest Man Alive three times.  And yet that stupid generator finally working is what gets him to crow in triumph, enough that he does a stupid little dance around it in victory and is honestly too damn tired to care what it looks like.  Finally.

So yeah, he’s a little loopy.

It probably doesn’t help that he’s working with subpar and reclaimed materials on top of the lack of sleep, but it’s done.  It’s running.  It’s a stopgap solution at best, they can’t run on these little generators forever and they’re going to have to start thinking bigger, but for now, a couple of these (also temporary, also stopgap) clapboard and cinder block houses have power.  A level above on the quality of life.

He links his hands over his head and leans back, his back shifting and popping in what sounds like (and feels like) about five different places, before he straightens, letting his arms fall back to his sides.  “Go tell Mama Hen Rogers I’m fine.  It’s not like I don’t know he put you up to this.”

“Got those guards up and runnin’,” and like he has no idea what she’s talking about, she jabs her thumb over her shoulder down into the courtyard, “It should make your rooftop job a li’l easier.”

Her voice is thin and he breathing is shallow. It’s unfortunate that the jumpsuit that has replaced her trusty blue and gold one is much less kind about hiding injuries. It’s nothing that she can’t deal with, even with limited resources and very few places to hide and lick wounds here. Hopefully the way she stands like she isn’t affected at all is convincing enough, “Now, is there anythin’ else you need? Within reason, o’course -- can’t offer you any bubbly ‘r steak dinner.”

          ❝ You know, ❞    Valentine begins,  ice cool with the expression to match,    ❝ With the number of cracks you’ve made about me bein’ a synth,  I really oughtta leave you in there, MacCready. ❞    He’s striking a match on the wall,  lighting a cigarette,  it’s of so little consequence to him ;    unhurried  &  unperturbed to see the mercenary all caught up this way.  But there’s a slyness to the gesture that gives away the humor he finds in it,  as though it would not take more than a nudge to have him crack a smile.  He clicks his tongue instead.

          ❝ Hmm.  What do you think ? ❞    he asks,  shaking out the match.  He brings the cigarette to his thin,  scarred synthetic lips.  Takes a long,  deliberate drag.    ❝ Should this ol’  machine help ya out ? ❞

         when kaj catches up with maccready, she gets the feeling of having interrupted something. a deer in the headlights, she freezes in the doorway to daisy’s, sizing up the three of them and preparing for a gunfight. only eased by partner in maccready’s mouth, reminding—they’re a team, for better or worse (and goodneighbor isn’t like the mojave). in short, kaj feels a strong pull to not fuck this up. she sizes up maccready discreetly, trying to figure out what way he wants to take this guy: are they gonna flat out fight? play it cool, like they’ve got plenty of caps to spare? make empty promises that they don’t plan to fill? no to the last one, at least—whatever maccready is, mercenary attitude or not, she hasn’t got him pinned down for a liar (not like her). 

        but the tall fella they might end up working for is harder to judge than that. nice armor (good pay?). he’s in goodneighbor looking for warm bodies, so it can’t be entirely clean work. but if daisy’s got a hand in this, well. it can’t be that bad, either, then; daisy’s not the type to send people on death sentences. mama type and all. kaj nods to edward, but doesn’t extend a hand to shake (too needy). she mimics maccready instead, leaning against the doorway and shoving her hands in her duster pockets. her smile is light. not overly friendly, but not unkind, either. kaj sure hopes they end up doing some kind of good cop, bad cop. she loves that bit (boone was the only one who was willing to go for it, back home).

        “ good to meet you, edward. my name’s kaj, and i think you’re in just the right market. oh, before i forget. here you go, partner. ” casual as you please, she reaches into her pocket, pulling out the satchel of ammo she’d loaded up for maccready next door and passing it over. if she’d known they were going to be job hunting so soon, she might have slapped a couple of bricks in there to pad the weight and make it look fuller, but it’s still plenty good as it is. it gives the impression she wants to this deegan guy, at least—they put their bullets (and caps) to use, and they can very much be bought.

      “ anyway. sorry i’m late. ” kleo doesn’t haggle, that’s for sure. “ catch me up to speed? ”

For most scams, there was only so much that a person could do to bring them to fruition. Get the word out subtly among the locals. Keep yourself unscathed from the oddly violent creatures running around so you don’t change history too much by wiping them out. And then...wait. And wait some more.

Today began day 3 of the waiting game.

There was only so far that these locals could travel on a daily basis, Jack knew, but still, when he subtly leaked information about the recently discovered vault filled from floor to ceiling with books and ammunition (hoarders, doncha know), he expected a little faster response.

And there was only so long that Jack could keep that damn reactor in stasis. He gave it another three days before the inevitable occurred - sooner, of course, if he got the supplies he was asking for. But, for now, he could rest nearby his ship, invisible to the naked eye, at the meeting point he’d spread news about - far enough out of safety that whoever wanted this mythical vault would have to work for it, to want it. Just a handsome man with a twinkle in his eye, dressed in appropriately wasteland attire, with the motherlode to give to one lucky sucker.

He didn’t have a single bit of guilt of the reality of the situation.
