“A fine day indeed for a good game of Quidditch, don’t you think?” the elderly wizard didn’t seem to mind the merciless glare of the sun or the slight breeze that occasionally picked up, making the strings of ornaments laced around his white tresses glimmer and tinkle and his hat bend to its will. Trailing robes shimmered like a stream of liquid silver amidst the swaying blades of grass, hands clasped before him in a solemn gesture as he approached the witch caught in uncharacteristic solitude.

He shouldn’t have gone looking for the Holyhead captain. He shouldn’t have asked about her new lineup, doubly so under the guise of broom sales. Nor should he deprive Ginny of the chance to share her success with her family, but he couldn’t help himself. He had to go see her. 

Apparating to the porch of the Burrow was little more of a courtesy as he didn’t bother knocking, simply letting himself in with a celebratory whoop. With the energy of a madman, Fabian darted around the house in a search for his niece, finding her alone in the kitchen. 

Without so much as an announcement, her pulled her into a hug, wrenching her into the air with another whoop. “Congratulations! Drinks! Drinks all around.”

She wasn’t much of a dog person, but when the dog gave her those big eyes, Asta couldn’t help but adopt it. She smiles big when Ginny agreed to babysit and Asta was glad that she was not intimidated by the breed. He was just a pup, but already a fluff ball. “Thank you for offering! I have been so worried leaving him here alone, it was a relief that you offered. I shouldn’t be out too long, I was told we are going to dinner.”
