Roses are Red Violets are Blue The words that you Say Will come back to haunt You
THOMAS MCNAIR;
"I wish that Tom would have had the chance to say goodbye to his father..." -- Annie
It was meant in the best of ways: a heartfelt wish that Tom could have said the things he never got the chance to say. Never had the ghost imagined things would go as badly as they did -- or did they? Tom didn't know what to make of it, that first night, when his eyes closed and he drifted asleep, only to find himself back in the boarding house, with Nina and George, Annie and Mitchell, Herrick and his father. He remembered all of it, everything that had passed in between, but yet here he was -- with no one else recalling anything different than their every day life. He tried to warn his father, tried to explain what would happen, yet nothing seemed to change.
And then... the second night came, and the same happened. How many nights will he return to that night? How many times will he see the flicker of Anthony McNair, standing in the shadows, dancing just out of reach before he can no longer tell which is reality, and which is the dreaming world?
