Not immersive but....

Caught a couple of fringe plays today. Outlaws to In-laws, and Gypsy Queens, both at the Kings Head Theatre, Angel.

Outlaws to In-laws, a series of 7 short plays, 4 of which were excellent, 3 less good, but a new experience for me, one which made me appreciate the comprehensiveness of punchdrunks work, telling so many stories alongside one another - each of equal merit.

Gypsy Queens stole the evening for me. A splendid showcase of flawlessness - the best thing I've seen on a stage for a long time. I laughed, cried, and poured through a hundred emotions conjured by the two fabulous actors on stage, each playing several parts.

Mallorca

We arrived!!! I'm soo happy because I'm very surprised. Everyone seemed convinced we couldn't make a 2pm flight, when our international leg was scheduled in at 12:30. Well of course it was delayed, and we didn't get off the plane until 13:00. The stewardess just laughed and said book a new flight when we asked our odds. Plus, we disembarked on the tarmac and had to wait panicked while the shuttle loaded us to airport. A quick sprint to customs ensured we beat the hoards, then out the airport, run through a parking lot, back into departures and again lucked out with fast security. Done and done. Our luck didn't run out there, the car rental place upgraded us to a fancy little BMW that has navigation and a reverse camera to help me park. Now for eating and exploring Palma!

Going to extremes in Spain

And so it begins... Another European vacation à la Ash&Tash (with a bit of Africa thrown in for fun). After our most stressful day of packing ever we have arrived at the airport. The trip has barely begun and already we are learning many valuable lessons: 1) Not all cabin baggage allowances are equal 2) cabin baggage allowances have gotten hilariously small 3) we must have been lucky in the past and never measured our old bags 4) next trip we check luggage. So begins our adventure in high/low travel. It's like save money here... waste it there. After schlepping across Toronto on public transit we got to the airport about an hour later. Instantly paid $20 to access all you can eat and drink in the Platinum lounge and voilá we are all smiles!
