I don't think I've ever come around so hard on a game before. I've gone from being extremely frustrated with Seeds of Chaos and almost quitting to actually LOVING the game. It's much deeper than I would have imagined.

It was quite smart of them to alternate between playing the protagonist and his wife.

After a lot more playing, Seeds of Chaos has won me over.

It helps that there are less scenes with no audio than I feared though I still find them galling. The game has A LOT of rough edges dialogue wise particularly during sex scenes (as is pretty standard unfortunately) which sticks out a bit after the excellence of Sanguine Rose's erotic content. This is made up for by the visual presentation which includes some nice animation.

Where it shines so far is in character interactions and plot, and I personally find the fact that it suddenl;y becomes a chill management/strategy game really enjoyable.

I've been dipping my toe into H visual novels mainly as research for my own project. I played through Sangine Rose which I thought was pretty excellent.

Now I'm playing Seeds of Chaos and it's really frustrating. On the one hand there is a lot of quality material in this game but on the other the choices made on what is "finished" is baffling even for an early access game. I think it is inexcusable to have long stretches of reading where there is no music or sound of any kind. it just ends up feeling like the game is broken. Put a public domain temp track in there or some menu clicks... anything!

Anyway I am intrigued enough that I am going to keep playing but every time the sound cuts out it's UNBELIEVABLY frustrating, especially given how padded out some of the dialogue is.
