Big foot or the Easter bunny Monsters vs mystical creatures have been a crucial debate in human society for centuries. Whether or not someone is afraid depends on the stories they were told while growing up. Santa Claus we were told was good even thought he stalk us all year long meanwhile we should be afraid of Bigfoot who no one had ever seen. We show celebrate the bunny that leaves behind boiled eggs but runaway from the creatures on Halloween high. Do you see the pattern?

What we now think of as a monstrosity are things like vampires, werewolves, Freddie, It, etc. In America's beginning you were considered monstrous for being the wrong color, "the mark on Cain was black". Today in History 102 Wrld Civ., I began to question slave owners, "Wasn't it more un-christian like to beat, kill, judge, etc. someone than them being of color.
"Monsters die out when the collective imagination no longer needs them." I think this means that certain types of monsters come and go. You might imagination a monster being really scary but then a year or so later it may be scary. Or for example, vampires were scarier three years ago but they aren't as scary now. Katlyn Wilson
The Walking Dead
With the 2nd half of the fifth season of the walking dead premiering this Sunday, I can't help but wonder when the show will come to an end. Recent AMC shows have ended before they were beaten to death and people stopped viewing; Breaking Bad ended after 5 seasons and Mad Men will end with the second half of its 7th season being released this year. Writers claim that they have enough material for 15 seasons. However, I hope that the show does not actually last this long. I can't imagine that the integrity of this great zombie show could survive 15 seasons.
