Aoi's head jerks up at the auditory intrusion. They'd heard about these hunts. Never had they thought they'd be subjected to one. Had she strayed too far from Vought's idea of a perfect puppet? What words pushed them over the edge? Now the news talk of the Siren's disappearance. Some tragic end during a mission where their body drifted to sea. What bullshit.
She stands, catching Edgar's eye. This won't end with her escape. They're not stupid. Her only freedom is death. So they accept it with a snap of their fangs. Even if the serrated shark teeth do nothing to intimidate him. It's a bit of fun.
"Aren't heretics supposed to get one last chance to recant?" How dramatic. Aoi will never beat the theater kid allegations. "Lemme guess: hands behind my back. I'll get cuffed. Have a mask latched over my mouth. Everything you can do to neutralize my powers, you'll do. Whatever this is meant to be doesn't hide the fact that its an execution."
