This Flower Says We Have to be Friends || Rosetta and Rachel
When Rachel bought the flowers currently puled nto the crook of her arm, she hadn’t really bought them for anyone specific (aside from the aster, which had been bought specifically for Julia), but was generally awed by and loving of the people around her enough so that she could unintentionally make the gift sappy. So stopping back into her dorm had been purely to drop off her backpack before handing out the buds, she hadn’t even expected she’d see Rosetta--after all, someone as smart and busy and cool as her would probably have, like, club stuff to do.
That said, when Rachel pushed open the door with her usual pep and bounce in her step and locked eyes with Rosetta, whoever she’d been thinking about giving a flower to was pushed straight out of her head because--oh my gosh, she should totally give one to Rosetta. Forgetting entirely about her plans for the aster, and that she’d bought it for her elder cousin, she separated it from the astroturfas or astromoria or whatever in her arms as she walked over.
“Rosie, I’m so glad you’re here! I was--I mean,me and my friend were--going to get a snack but there was like, this table selling flowers and--well, I guess this isn’t really that interesting, is it?” Without much of a pause or catching her breath or giving Rosetta the chance to sort through the useless jabber she’d just dropped, she very gently offered the other girl the aster. “But I bought this for you, because it’s super duper pretty, just like you!”
