Having some pretty solid flooding in very north west WA. I left work a few hours early today due to reports they might be closing the road into my small town.

Road is now closed as the river 1/2 mile from my house and overflowed. Fingers crossed my house should be fine. I have a deep crawl space and my house is raised up.

I did call off work tomorrow. I don't know if the roads will be open but I am not chancing it.

I just made the final payment on my federal student loan for my BSN.

I got really lucky when I took my current job. I didn't know when I accepted, but they offered loan payback help even if you didn't do the degree when working for them. So for 22 months they paid $400 directly to my loan so no tax. Prior to that I had been paying $150/month, so it paid down so much faster than I otherwise could have gotten it to.

Sadly the grant for that program ended after January this year so no more work payments. Figured since it was down to about 2k, and last month was 3 paycheck month, I should be responsible, pay it off and never have to think about it again.

I feel a bit bad bragging, but I am so proud that I can now say my only debt is my mortgage.

Here’s a diagnosis you don’t see everyday. (not patients current admit reason but in their history a few years back.)

Ballistic humerus fracture after a bear hunting incident.

Like I know what it means but I just can’t get out of my head the idea that the bear is the one who shot them.

Skate America this year is only 90 min from my house. It also just happens to fall on my monthly 3 day weekend. Just booked my all session tickets and hotel room.

Super excited to go to my first live skating competition. Hope some of my fav skaters get assigned to SKAM.

Day off work. Lazing in bed with the window open listening to gentle summer rain.
