I think (hope) the climax of Was It Love? is that Noh Ae-Jeong and Oh Dae-O get closure from their breakup.
I think before any romance blooms, that needs to happen. Regardless of who Ae-Jeong ends up with.
I personally like Dae-O’s character, but he has a lot of growing up to do. He’s immature, rude, and selfish. Sweet feelings and passionate heart isn’t gonna cut it for Ae-Jeong (or me) if he’s going to be considered a serious love interest.
Ryu Jin needs to work on his sense of agency and stand up for himself a bit. I think it’s interesting how he’s a superstar who probably lands lead roles often, but in real life, he keeps to the periphery. If he ends beeing Ha-Nee’s dad I want to see him step up and take the lead role in his own life.
Noh Yeon-Woo is too cute. While he may end as a “father figure” to Ha-Nee, I don’t think Ae-Jeong will end with him. She sees him as a younger brother and isn’t uncomfortable around him after he confessed to liking her. I do want to see him move on from Ae-Jeong and find someone who does pay attention to him and really likes him.
As for Koo Pa-Do I’m curious about his backstory and why he’s protective of Ae-Jeong. And I want him to rebuild his relationship with his son.
I really hate the “jealous girl from the past” trope. I want to see A-rin see how immature Dae-O is and realize she’s wasting her time pining over him. She seems insecure and I’d love to see her find confidence in herself. I feel like Yeon-Woo and her would make a good match, but I’m in no rush to ship either of them with anyone.
As for Ae-Jeong, I want to see her succeed and not have to put up with all the fools she has to work with. I’m waiting for her to call a cast meeting and putting them all in their place. I love her character so much. She’s so resilient and and has so much tenacity. She’s prideful, but acknowledges her vulnerabilities, and has a strong sense of self-worth. She’s super admirable, which makes it easy to see why everyone in the show looks up to her.
I love Ha-Nee. She has a strong sense of justice as well as individuality. She’s kind, hardworking, and chill. I would totally have wanted to be friends with her when I was 14. You can tell she looks up to her mom, but she’s also a teen who’s starting to figure out her own way in the world. I’d love to see more of her in the next episodes. Honestly, I’d watch a show that centered more aroung Ha-Nee and Ae-Jeong in a slice-of-life dramedy.
