Okay, but I also wanna talk about the coloring a bit, because this isn't my usual style for coloring my work, and I think anyone who's seen enough of my art will notice that. I use gradients but usually not nearly as colorful or as bright as this. I'm pretty basic, in other words. And that's not a bad thing! I enjoy solid looking shadows and adhering to what I feel is more familiar and natural to me. But this is me playing around with Tommy's own funky colors in a lot of his work. (Most of, if not all you who interact with my blog also follow Tommy, but if not, or you're new or you've somehow missed him, I'm a huge fan of his art and you really should check him out! His blog is @greaserink ! He's the dude I tagged. Go look at his blog. He's very cool.)
I personally think my execution has room for major improvement, not that I'm really trying to mimic or emulate his style. I just thought it would be fun since I am drawing up his boy a lot. (I'm sorry for being a thot, Darling.) I actually would like to find a way to harmonize it with my own style, since I feel like this pic looks janky as hell-- Not that its bad! It's great, and I did a great job! But, y'know, I can do better.
Anyway. That's all I wanted to say about that I guess? Clearly, this was inspired by Tom Cat in some areas.
