if you're still doing crit role music asks, 'keep the car running' by arcade fire gives me big vibes for campaign 2, i think it fits tm9 in general and certain parts fit each member individually. and 'never let me go' by florence + the machine gives me BIG bittersweet vax and the raven queen feelings!!
Ahhhh I adore Arcade Fire — so glad someone suggested one of their songs! Keep the Car Running really gets the “we’ll make it work” aspect of the Mighty Nein — their confusion about the larger world politics (”But they don’t know where,/ They don’t know when it’s coming”), but their persistence anyhow.
Definitely agree with you about certain lines for certain people: “They know my name cause I told it to them” immediately made me think of Caleb and Nott revealing their old names; and “Men are coming to take me away/ I don’t know why but I know I can’t stay” reminds me of all of them who are on the run from something or someone.
And oof, Never Let Me Go really does capture that RQ dynamic. This verse really reminds me of his communions with the Raven Queen:
“And it's peaceful in the deep/ Cathedral where you cannot breathe/ No need to pray, no need to speak/ Now I am under all”
And this one is absolutely spot-on for e103, with Vax making that final pact with the Raven Queen:
“Though the pressure's hard to take/ It's the only way I can escape/ It seems a heavy choice to make/ And now I am under”
