Hadi Rani Mahal was named after a famous Queen, Maharani Hadi who was the daughter of Rajput Hada. She was the wife to Maharana Raj Singh I who was Chundawat chief of Salumbar region in Mewar. Legend says, once when her husband was called on war against Aurangzeb, he wished to spend some time with his newly wedded wife. He asked her to give him some memory of hers as a memento. The famous Rani Hadi chopped her head to be presented before her husband and not wanting to be a distraction in maharaja's spirit of war. Shocked to see his wife's head he decided to carry it in the war. He fought bravely and won against Aurangzeb.
