At the sound of her name, Hadley turned on her heel, and looked around. She didn’t quite see who was running towards her. “Yeah?” She called back, squinting to see who’d found her on her hike.

Hadley had moved schools, and wasn’t sure what to expect. Walking in on her first day, was a little intimidating. She looked around the busy halls, trying to find the office, pushing past a group of students to try and find her way.

Popcorn & Ice-cream || Quadley

Quentin walked around the kitchen nervous, getting ready for his meeting with Hadley. He hadn't seen the girl for ages, since they broke up and though they remained good friends, he was still insecure of his moves in front of the girl, as if it was the first day. Quentin smiled to himself as he scattered the sugar over the popcorn, that was another little pleasure of hers. Carefully, he checked that every piece of popcorn had his sugar dose. If there was something that Quentin and Hadley had in common was their huge love for food. From their first date to the last one, there hadn't been a day they didn't have anything to eat. Quentin placed the bowl of popcorn in the coffee table next to the couch, where they were going to watch a movie. People never understood why did they broke up, well why did she leave him. They seemed to be perfect for the other, same interest and joyful personality, they spent most of their time together for over a year, and suddenly, it wasn't Quentin and Hadley anymore. Maybe Hadley was too perfect and strong for him, he needed someone darker and fragile, someone he could fix and help, someone mysterious and not as transparent as Hadley. That was why Raianne caught his attention, she was the opposite to Hadley, and she needed someone to help me, but apparently, it wasn't Quentin. He thought Hadley must had been mad at him after dating her best friend, but if Hadley had a quality, no doubt she had many, it was her goodness. Quentin was taking his supersize Ben & Jerry's strawberry ice-cream out of the fridge when someone knocked the door. Swiftly, he put the jar next to the popcorn and went to open the door. He looked at his reflection in the mirror, fixing his hair before opening the door impetuously. "Hi Hads, come in" Quentin let the girl go deep into the house, leading her to the living room "I have special popcorn for you and... Ice-cream for me!" He said playfully.

"This?" Hadley asked to herself, standing in front of her almost room-height mirror, matching a little black dress to her body and examining the reflection carefully. "No, it's too long to catch anyone's attention," blonde threw away the clothing. "Maybe this?" grabbing another dress from the wardrobe and checking herself again, she turned her body back and forth slightly. "neither this. It's too short and slutty, people will think I'm a whore looking for her usual gig." Her mind swam back to the night when she was called slut for wearing a short dress, in front of her crush, Justin. Hadley curled up her lips and let a small sigh of frustration. "This!" girl's face became brighter when she reached a refined pink dress from Prada. It was short, but not too much, not too vulgar-looking.

After dressing up and applying make-up, she went downstairs to ask her mother for a car. Entering the kitchen, Hadley could hear her shouting at someone on the phone. Wait, why someone , when it was obvious. Who else it could have been other than her dad.

"No, kids won't be spending this weekend with you, period!" 

Incredible nervous state, trepidation beyond words - that was the way Hadley felt each time she overheard her parents arguing. Her teeth chattered from the impulse to cry. She fought the first tears to wet her eyes and exhaled. "I need a car, mom." her voice slightly above the whisper, she looked at her mother. "but you know what? No, I don't need your car. I will ask Mike." Hadley felt a ball of anger stuck into her throat, making breathing difficult while looking at the woman who brought her to life, realizing that she had another fight with his ex-husband.

Not to mention the fact that the party where she was going was hosted by the guy who was crazy about Rai, now, above that, Hadley's mood was poisoned after witnessing her parents argument. Of course, she loved her best friend with all her heart, but sometimes this girl wanted to feel special, enamored too. Wanted to wake up every morning knowing that she was the most important female not only in the life of his own brother, but being the number one in another way, for another boy. What was wrong with her? She wasn't ugly, she wasn't dumb, she wasn't mean... 

Her slim body melted on Mike's door.
