homestuckies pushing 30 and still beefing with teenagers over ships will never not be funny to me
.
i used the davinci gpt-3 (via openai playground) to generate lyrics for the rest of the Aristotle's Denial demo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2obNa29UYiQ) after it cuts off halfway through the final version's duration.
i figured since the demo is mostly lines slightly varied from the final version (kinda like the mind electric is compared to itmos... might have to try that next 👀) i could just feed it the final version and the existing part of the demo and it could figure out the rest. (i also gave it a prompt at the beginning, just to be sure it knew we were working in song lyrics)
here's the entire chunk of text, with the part i entered in plain text, and the part the ai generated in bold italics:
Write a continuation of one of the demos for Joe Hawley's song "Aristotle's Denial". VERSION 1: We've played a fool So many times We've been lambasted and thrown to the lions We've been to school For all of our crimes So we deny Stars when you shine Know how we feel Rounding precisely in fractals surreal Stars when you dream Ends to a mean Columned between Wound in a spring Caught in a lie Moses might plan things so he wouldn't die Bound by a steer Starboard to port Why wouldn't I Why wouldn't I? Why wouldn't I, then, deny? VERSION 2: I've been a fool So many times You can't defend what you've put me through I've been to school For all of my crimes I can't believe what you've put me through Stars when they shine Know how I feel Stars shone so bright they caused my skin to peel Stars when they dream Ends to a means Caught in between Wound in a spring Tightly bound Can't escape what's been found Caught in a lie Trying to die Can't get free Why couldn't I? Why couldn't I? You can't deny
personally i think it matches pretty well! some bits don't perfectly match the musical structure of the final song, but then again the demo doesn't completely match it as is. also it pretty much means absolutely nothing, but, eh, thats the cost for using an ai to write song lyrics.
I've recorded a crude little test of the lyrics. i didn't use them exactly! i made some changes, like changing "ends to a means" to "ends of a mean" (idk. i think this is another reasonable play on the phrase "means to an end") but i really just wanted to hear what a longer version of the demo might sound like. enjoy!
“are you fine?” no i’m still not over shoot out era 🤕

things i haven't learned to stop doing ever since She left, part 8737848374: self isolating over literally anything but especially when i perceive myself as being Too Much in any aspect whatsoever regardless of if my mood at the time of Being Overwhelming is good or bad, which then results in overthinking hyperdrive, which doubles the self isolation, all of which condenses into Critical Isolation Hell: The "Eternally Disliked Due To Being Ridiculously Too Much" Edition
Floors wants to be "normal" soooooo bad that isn't an allegory for anything at ALL.
this song never fails to make me cry
