Hail Core by Sandra Herber Via Flickr: What an awesome sight this was. This image is from the same amazing storm we saw on the last day, but about an hour earlier. It was so out of this world, it was hard to believe it was real. What appeared to happen (according to Mike ) was the hail core (the light coloured mass) came out the storm and wrapped around it for a moment and then dumped all its hail in a microburst (I'll post a pic of that next). This all happened in a matter of a few minutes. This image was taken handheld, standing in the middle of the road, in amazement. Near Arthur, Nebraska. May 23, 2018. If you'd like see more images I took while storm chasing, both this year and last year, take a look at my Storm Chasing album. Website | Instagram
