Dear Severus, what are your favorite aspects about being a father of four girls? Miss your stories and this blog! xxx

Astounding as it will probably sound, particularly coming from me, there are quite possibly too many reasons to list; but I shall endeavour to try.
Being a father, while an endlessly sleep depriving, nerve-wracking, and confounding role to have adapted to in this life, has been rewarding–far more so–beyond my wildest dreams…
I relish watching each of my daughters’ excel and grow into the sensational young witches they’re becoming, each unique and unparalleled and breath-taking in their own depths of character and brilliance. I feel that my wife and I can hardly take credit for it; they are each their own marvel to behold. I’m routinely left flabbergasted by their extraordinary tolerance and acceptance of me, a father whom no one would smartly choose were the decision left to their design, and the boundless love I’ve received from my girls leaves me more appreciative and petrified everyday. As a father, it’s something you’re terrified of losing and screwing up simply because it’s so precious, so treasured, so I strive every hour of every day to ensure that I exceed their expectations (as a father should).
I may not always enjoy the emotional challenges that come with fatherhood, such as navigating their unpredictable mood swings and those disturbing hormonal changes, but they have certainly been…eye-opening, to put it plainly. I’m learning from my daughters daily, and schooling myself by way of what my own children provide me is enriching in ways I can’t properly put into words. They teach me; they’ve changed me for the better in so many respects. One can’t put a price on that.
A daughter’s love is truly unmatched and bewitching, I must say, and I hardly think what I’ve written here does my girls justice; but they have transformed me…and given more to their father than they will ever realise.
I’m grateful, exceedingly so, and ever proud to be theirs.
