istg if this failed to post one more time

i was not prepared for the kagadrien in this episode and from an outsider's perspective felt that it was rushed because we didn't see it build as much as we dreamed and theorized and wrote fanfics about it. even with the lukanette.

but then again, the timing is perfect. just as we are surprised with this newfound information about adrien and kagami being together, marinette feels this a hundred times more because she has a direct relationship with the two parties and feels strongly for both of them. Marinette is in a constant state of heightened confusion and mixed emotions about the whole thing. Then, you add Chat Noir dropping the bomb about having a girlfriend as well and this whole thing just explodes.

Now, Marinette has to struggle with the shift in the relationship between the boy she likes and the girl she's friends with and see them get together just as she feared and known would happen, AND accept the fact that the boy she cares for and trusts the most - HER CONSTANT!! - changed their duo dynamic.

we see this affect her negatively throughout the episode and prompted her to act out of her own feelings rather than... logic, i guess. adding those stressors with the duties and responsibilities of Superhero Ladybug and Everyday Marinette, she was bound to break down at one point. I'm sure that Adrien is going to follow soon (or not, depending on how the show plotted it out).

which now brings me to my hope and point that this show would address and disprove Master Fu's "keep your identities a secret to each other rule." I think we've been exposed to a lot of works (in and out of the ML fandom) that shows exactly why this isn't suited for in the long run. They provided a great contrast to the Hawkmoth/Mayura dynamic - who showed a much more at ease relationship dynamic because they know each other, in and out of the mask - but we've also seen this happen already!

Thanks to the Oblivio episode, we can see how much more both characters are at ease and the trust that they have for one another is grounded stronger than ever!

Besides, Master Fu already have acknowledged that the world is changing and that traditions don't necessarily have to be followed in a strict manner anymore. So, I sincerely hope they will address that.

BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST KIDS!!!

THEY'RE JUST KIDS GODDAMIT. They need to talk about these things so they can have a better understanding of the events that just transpired and also to give them enough emotional reprieve for the time being. They literally have nobody other than their kwamis to talk about these things. Sure, Master Fu is there but talking to someone who is your same age about the same experiences feels a lot different than someone who spoke according to their own wisdom and experiences. There's a difference in the emotional (and maybe psychological) impact. Plus, they (Master Fu and the kwamis) can only provide so much comfort before it doesn't.

Not to mention, Hawkmoth/Gabriel and Mayura/Nathalie are adults so they have a better grasp in handling outside stresses of life because they've gone through it already. But Mari and Adrien are just kids. They're still just kids!!! They need the emotional support only they can bring each other! If the show still doesn't make them reveal each other's identities in Miracle Queen, fine. I can wait. But goddamn make them have their emotional reprieves. Seriously. I'm worried for them. Adrien more so than Marinette because Adrien doesn't have the luxury to talk to Master Fu. that is so unfAIR WHY

CHLOE BETTER GET HER DAMN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT / SLIGHTLY REDEMPTION ARC BECAUSE THIS GIRL DESERVES IT AS MUCH AS MARINETTE DESERVES HER REST AND ADRIEN DESERVES HIS FATHER'S LOVE.
