Im reading "SWAK" BloodyMary childhood friends au fic, and it's making me think of Elio (Pixar). Please someone have Ryland Grace be Elio's science teacher that encourages him to follow in his parents footsteps, gives him the safe space in his classroom to be as space nerdy as he wants, and let's him borrow his classroom telescope to use at home.
It'd be such a cute au, and I know Elio needs to feel like he's alone for his movie arc to even happen and I know his Aunt truly loves him and wants what's best for him but I think Grace could be another trusted adult in his life. And the little alien guy could be friends with Rocky too. They'd be so cute UGH

And I DID cry watching Elio, seeing this autistic kid feel like he doesn't even belong on Earth because no one alive understands him except for the aliens and also the queerness that was allegedly erased from the concept art to the final film and I CRIED when QUEEN was played during the first Elio trailer and the movie was released in June, and I KNEW the kid felt different and othered from Humanity but he felt this pure connection to a little alien Bug that ALSO feels different from his species and they were able to change their Parents' minds because their parents truly DO love them they just didn't know how to show it in the same way the kids needed and then when Elio and his Aunt were flying back to Earth in the shuttle, they heard the entire Earth say I LOVE YOU and YOU ARE NOT ALONE and I did cry
