He watched a lot of those 80s-90s ish hero talking dog movies as a kid and old police/detective shows

Surpringly good cook for not being able to taste or eat but the kitchen is a mess afterwards

I think I've already mentioned before I headcannon hal used to have a family that died pretty badly so to cope he treats the mircro wave and toaster like family but I wanna add to this theory and say he's kinda scared of hospitals, more speficaly seeing loved ones in the hospital, maybe either his wife or son (or both) died slowly in a hospital?

I love drawing hals eyebrows it's sm fun.. we need more characters with big eye brows chat.. I also like giving him the dog face as a default when drawing him, eyes with nothing behind them and silly smile...he has so much whimsy and terror to those around him...ye
