It’s been a while, too long since the distress signal went out. A couple of weeks on Mogo, trying to pull things together, help the injured get back on their feet, try and come to terms with the fact that Oa is just.. gone. Nothing left but space rubble and mess. A mess Guy knows all too well, he’s spent a hell of a lot of time out there lately.
Two weeks. Two weeks. While not everyone can bring themselves to keep searching, Guy refuses to give up and leave Hal out there, which is how he finds himself out here again. Searching through the rubble, navigating through space that once held their second home.. searching for a friend. He’s not one for sentimentality, but he won’t leave Hal behind, even if he has to search for weeks or months to come..
He pauses for a moment, scanning the area, trying to look for something - anything different, anything that’s not leftover pieces of Oa drifting apart, and he sees.. “Hal - HAL!” Guy doubts he’s ever flown so fast, speeding over to the lifeless body suspended in space. He’s still in his suit - a good sign, his ring still keeping him alive, and when Guy reaches his ring does a quick scan to confirm Hal’s still alive, but his ring’s running outta juice, running some sort of preservation system to keep Hal alive but he’s not sure how much longer it’ll last, and for once Guy’s not surprised. Anyone would be out of power after so long out here.
“You idiot, I was gonna kick your ass after you got home, what’d you go let someone else do it for?” He mutters as he creates a construct around Hal’s body and starts the trip back to Mogo with Hal in tow, careful to navigate him around the debris. By the time they make it back, even Guy’s nervous. He carries Hal’s body down to the surface as quickly as he can manage without putting the man in danger, kneeling down beside him to try and wake him up. “Alright, Hal - joke’s over, wake up. No way you’re gettin’ out of it that easy.”
